“We contacted Man with a Cherry Picker Van after looking at their website. We own a three-storey house with challenging access on both sides and at the front. We had issues with both chimneys, the guttering, and painting above a conservatory at the rear, which would have been impossible to access without scaffolding.
We spoke with Julian, who was exceptionally helpful. He asked for photos, the driveway dimensions, and agreed on costs with us. Julian was punctual on each of the four days he carried out the work. He sent videos as he progressed to explain what was required, and further videos once tasks were completed. His workmanship was exceptional; he worked extremely hard and provided very fair pricing.
Overall, we would have no hesitation in recommending this company—in fact, we already have, as Julian also carried out repairs to our neighbour’s chimney.

They were able to use the cherry picker for the front and side work, and ladders for the back. Having the cherry picker meant the work on the front and side was completed quickly and efficiently. “I can’t rate Julian highly enough—I’d give him ten stars if I could. Julian came to repoint our chimney, and not only is he thorough, but the quality of his work is also second to none. He is reliable, kept in touch, and arrived when he said he would. He took video footage before and after his work.
To be honest, we didn’t realise how bad the chimney stack was beforehand, but Julian took the time to explain what he was doing and showed us progress along the way. Through his video footage, we also noticed a few broken and missing roof slates, so while he was up there, Julian replaced these as well, making our roof watertight again.
I highly recommend Julian and will definitely use him again.”

"Contacted Julian to repoint 2 chimney pots and fix a chimney collar on both. He came at the time stated and never stopped working throughout the day. It's so hard to find a good service these days, but Julian did a great job at very reasonable price. He always replied to our messages and provided the needed information at advance. We asked for an invoice and he provided it on the same day. He was on site even 10 minutes earlier.
We hired him to remove the signs from our shop, once he was done he checked and cleaned the gutters and inspected the roof. Highly recommended to everyone who needs a man with a cherry-picker van in the Sheffield area!"

"I contacted Julian when I discovered a leak around my chimney stack was letting water into the bedroom. Prior to contacting Julian I contacted local builders who said it would require scaffold to be erected and traffic lights to control the road traffic and the price quoted wasn’t cheap.
So, I looked for an alternate solution and came across ‘The man With a Cherry Picker Van’. Julian arrived the same day and provided me with a quote for the work, which I was happy with. He came the following week and completed the work in a professional manner. He repointed the chimney breast and replaced some of the lead flashing as well as capping the chimney off.
All in all a great job, so much so that I will be contacting him again shortly to help with installing a flue liner and fitting a new chimney pot."

"Highly recommended. Julian attended on the date he said he would and it cost me what he told me it would. Removed me a birds nest from a very awkward, very high gable end, and put me some bird spikes to prevent them coming back. He also did my front gable as well. Much cheaper and easier than scaffolding!"

"Julian arrived on time and never stopped working throughout.
Replaced some concrete in my eaves. Access was very difficult with ladders due to my sloping driveway, but with the cherry-picker no problem. It began throwing it down with rain almost immediately afterwards, but he helped me put some sheeting over it despite it running slightly over the time I'd paid for.
Also, topped out some overgrown conifers for me.

"I contacted Man With A Cherrypicker Van regarding safe access to inspect and clear all of the guttering on our new home. This guttering problem was just one of many roof related tasks we were aware needed addressing.
From speaking to Julian he told me that along with his safe access equipment/ credentials also included within his rate he will work on most property related building maintenance tasks.
Julian came and under his own initiative worked flat out through a list of roof related tasks that required addressing. To summarise he cleared blocked guttering, improved a section of badly designed guttering including adding a new downpipe, re-pointed a considerable amount of failing mortar around coping stones and valleys, trimmed a massive destructive wisteria, re-bedded the garage ridge tiles, literally a catalogue of jobs. This was all over and above my initial access expectation. I did nothing but buy a few materials and a coffee while he cracked on.
I can definitely recommend."
